Mutter-Kind-Pass

we keep an eye on the eyes of mother and child

Parents-to-be usually keep a very close eye on the health of their offspring. Optimum preventive care also includes monitoring eye development and vision. This not only affects the child, but also the (expectant) mother. We are happy to carry out examinations in accordance with the mother-child pass in our practices in the Golden Quarter in Vienna and in the Villa Medica Medical Competence Center in Mödling!

BEFORE, DURING & AFTER PREGNANCY

Optimal care for the mother

A woman's body performs brilliantly during pregnancy, focusing on the development of the child. A comprehensive check of the health of the mother is therefore recommended and covered by the mother-child pass. Especially in the area of the eyes and visual acuity, there are often changes during pregnancy.

A mostly harmless but annoying symptom is dry eyes, which are favored by the pregnancy hormones. This causes the eyes to appear glassy and the conjunctiva to redden. A majority of women also experience a change in visual acuity. We recommend an initial examination before pregnancy if you wish to have children in order to determine the status quo. Two examinations during pregnancy are completed by a check-up after delivery.

We accompany the development of children's eyesight from the first examination

The offspring is finally here! In addition to the health of the mother, the controls in the mother-child passport also serve the well-being of the child. In addition to examinations in the maternity clinic and with the pediatrician, appointments with the ophthalmologist are also planned in order to observe the development of the eyesight and to be able to react immediately in the event of possible impairments. At the Eye Center in Tuchlauben, we look forward to every little patient on our premises. We strive to create a pleasant atmosphere in the practice, to avoid waiting times and to take a playful approach to the necessary examination steps. The first visit to an ophthalmologist is recommended around 12 months of age, followed by another check-up between 22 and 24 months of age. After the second birthday, we recommend an examination once a year.
